The Finch West Light Rail Transit (LRT) line may be opening on Dec. 7, according to documents being presented at a Metrolinx meeting this week. But transit agencies still aren’t confirming.
“Major readiness milestones in relation to the opening of the line have been achieved,” Metrolinx Rapid Transit CEO Sean Fuller said in a quarterly report prepared for the agency’s board of directors meeting this week.
“Metrolinx is working with the TTC [Toronto Transit Commission] to prepare for the start of revenue service on December 7, 2025,” he wrote.
A spokesperson for the TTC, which took control of the new line earlier this month following a 30-day trial run, said in an email that they could not confirm an opening date. CBC Toronto has also reached out to Metrolinx to confirm, but has yet to r
