Chandler’s City Council seemed poised to embark on a lengthy, expensive city manager search until Nov. 21.
That’s when Council announced a special meeting for Monday, Nov. 24, where the only item on the agenda is to offer its acting city manager the permanent job.
Council is set to award a $375,000 annual contract to John Pombier in a Monday meeting to be held in the conference room at City Hall, 88 E. Chicago Street, downtown Chandler.
The start time for the meeting isn’t fixed, as it’s set to follow the completion of a 4:30 p.m. executive session about a pending court case.
Pombier is to be offered essentially a 19-month contract, as it runs through June 30, 2027. The $375,000 amount is exactly the same amount his predecessor, Josh Wright, was set to make in the final year of his mos
