A 17-year-old boy was hospitalized Nov. 21 following a shooting near the intersection of Yeager Way and Russell Avenue, Akron police Lt. Michael Murphy said in a statement.
Officers responded to the location around 11:39 a.m. for reports of a shooting after learning the teen was previously in front of a corner store near West South Street and Princeton Street. When officers arrived, they found the teen had been shot multiple times. He was immediately transferred to a local hospital and went into surgery for his wounds, Murphy said in a release.
Detectives from the Juvenile and Missing Persons Unit, Major Crimes Unit, and Crime Scene Unit responded to the scene to survey the area and collect evidence.
