Bridgend Council has reported improvements in the county’s air quality despite sections of its most polluted street remaining above target. The report to councillors given by Shared Regulatory Services (SRS) gave an annual update on the air quality at Park Street, Bridgend , close to the town centre.

The street was first marked as an Air Quality Management Area in 2019 after receptors detected levels of nitrogen dioxide that were above the legal threshold. Bridgend Council's cabinet member for finance and performance , Cllr Hywel Williams, spoke about the report at a cabinet meeting.

He said the majority of the report was positive, with one receptor dropping below the limit of 40
