It was very interesting to read the recent article, “Auditors flag repeated findings at Maryland state agencies” (Nov. 22), in the same issue as an article about the disbanding of the Department of Government Efficiency or DOGE. The same people who complained for months regarding the efforts of DOGE to uncover “waste, fraud and abuse” at the federal level seem to just shrug at the local level.

That includes the millions of taxpayer dollars that seem to disappear at the hands of local “nonprofits” or the millions paid out in unearned overtime. I guess the different responses are another example of Trump Derangement Syndrome.
