RICHMOND, Ky. (WKYT) - Two Central Kentucky women went viral after posting a TikTok video of themselves selecting Angel Tree tags.
The Angel Tree program is run by the Salvation Army, where people can select an “angel” representing a child whose family may need extra help buying gifts.
Payton King and Adrian Rogers’ video received over 1 million views.
“We put it on there because being an angel tree kid could be kind of stigmatized or a little bit embarrassing, I guess, it’s different when you’re in the situation, but we put it on there, and it blew up,” King said.
Personal connection to program
Both King and Rogers participated in the Angel Tree program as children when their families experienced hard times.
