SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) – Two suspects have been arrested in connection with a June murder in Springfield.

Payton North, spokesperson for the Hampden District Attorney’s Office, said that Vidal Hernandez-Vazquez, 19, of Springfield, and Erick Osorio-Rivera, 33, of Springfield are both facing murder charges in connection with the death of Felix Ponce-Cardona, 22, of Springfield.

Springfield police officers responded to the 100 block of Oak Grove Avenue for a ShotSpotter activation on the evening of June 29. When they arrived, they found an adult male victim, identified as Ponce-Cardona. He was taken to Baystate Medical Center where he died from his injuries on July 12.
