Igot to see the prettiest little girl I ever laid eyes on last Friday.
I didn’t walk into the room expecting anything more than smiles, but the moment I saw her, I froze. I felt something in my chest I wasn’t ready for: pride, joy, gratitude. I had to gather myself while her Nanny stepped in to hold her first.
I posted on social media that the one thing that became crystal clear was that the old joke is true: I instantly forgot the word “no” in all things she may ever ask me. As long as a “yes” will not harm her, I doubt she’ll even need to finish the question.
“Pawpaw, can I …”
“Yep, you sure can, baby girl.”
Now that I’m officially a Pawpaw, there are certain things that should just come naturally to me. I haven’t tried it yet, but I assume if I sit on the porch and start whittling
