RIPPON — The Chapel at Rippon Village celebrated its grand opening on Thursday, Nov. 20. This small church was originally built in 1875, but after a fire only the prayer room was left standing. The rest of the church was rebuilt in 1890 using trees around the property. However, over the years the building fell into disrepair. That was until Justin and Maria Souders decided to buy the property and breathe new life into the small building.
It started last year when Justin and Maria wanted to start a wedding venue. They considered buying property to build a chapel. After looking for over five years, they couldn’t find anything that matched what they were looking for. One evening, Maria decided to search for churches for sale and found a little church in Rippon.
