A winter storm watch was issued by the National Weather Service on Monday at 12:12 p.m. valid from Thursday 1 a.m. until Friday 7 p.m. for Northern Erie and Southern Erie as well as Crawford County.
"Heavy lake effect snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 6 inches or more are possible. Winds could gust as high as 45 mph causing blowing and drifting snow," adds the weather service. "Heaviest snowfall will likely occur Thursday afternoon and early evening with snowfall rates up to 1 inch per hour."
