Apple's first foldable iPhone, tentatively called the iPhone Fold, might not be the most expensive device that Apple retails, but it certainly looks like a close second.

Fubon Research's analyst, Arthur Liao, wrote the following in a recent report :
Global smartphone shipments are expected to decline by 4 percent year-over-year in 2026 to 1.2 billion units.
China's smartphone shipments are expected to decline by 3 percent next year to 275 million units.
In the same vein, total Apple iPhone shipments are expected to decline by 4 percent year-over-year to 234 million units.
The cost of components is expected to increase next year, with the total Bill of Materials (BOM) to increase by 5 to 6 percent in 2026.
