If Republican U.S. Senate candidate John Deaton has been clear about anything, it’s his deep ambivalence toward President Donald Trump.
The cryptocurrency attorney from Bolton made that clear in his unsuccessful challenge against U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., in 2024. And he hasn’t changed that position as he looks to take on Democratic U.S. Sen. Ed Markey in 2026 .
So perhaps it’s no surprise that he’s not seeking an endorsement from Trump, whose backing still can make or break a GOP candidacy.
"I’m not seeking any endorsement from anyone," Deaton, 58, told NBC-10’s “@Issue Sit-Down” on Sunday. “I’m seeking the endorsement of the voters.”
