MADISON, Wis. -- It was a stellar weekend for the Wisconsin men's hockey team, who swept then-No. 1 Michigan State on the road. Those wins pushed the Badgers up to No. 2 in this week's USCHO poll.

The Badgers were ranked No. 7 before the big sweep. Now, with a 10-2-2 record, they're nipping at the heels of new No. 1 Michigan. The Badgers and Wolverines faced off earlier this month in Ann Arbor, splitting the two-game series.

Wisconsin will get a week off for Thanksgiving, but will be back in action on Dec. 5 and 6 against Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind.

While the men were rapid risers this week, the Wisconsin women's hockey team stayed put. That's only because they've got nowhere higher to go.
