LATTA, SC (WMBF) - The Latta Police Department is looking to crack down on illegal drugs.

That is why the department has begun Operation Drug Takedown, aimed at eliminating illegal drug distribution in Latta.

Police said this is in response to growing concerns about illegal narcotics, associated violence and the destabilizing impact these activities are having on Latta neighborhoods.

As part of the initiative, police will conduct surveillance, run undercover operations and use community-driven intelligence to disrupt drug networks.
