A California man has been charged in connection with digital theft at retailers in Wayne County, authorities said.
Jian Wei Li, 40, allegedly made purchases via mobile tap-to-pay platforms with stolen credit card information between May and this month, according to the Northville Police Department and the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office.
The Michigan Attorney General and Michigan State Police's Focused Organized Crime Enforcement team believe the Hayward, California resident was involved in more than 25 fraudulent tap-to-pay incidents at Meijer stores in Wayne County.
