GILBERT, Ariz. — A man has been arrested on suspicion of killing his 91-year-old stepfather and injuring his 81-year-old mother at a residence in the East Valley.

Gilbert police reported responding to a 911 call around 5:40 p.m. from a family member on Nov. 22 after the elderly couple failed to show up for dinner plans.

According to court documents, the family member told police she had been trying to reach Oscar Casdorph since noon, but his phone was going straight to voicemail.

When the couple did not answer the door to their home, the family member spoke to neighbors, who said they had not seen the couple in a few days.

The family member told police Casdorph's stepson, Gary Crawford, 56, had been staying with the couple for a "couple" of weeks.
