BRIGHTON, Mich. (WILX) - A man is facing charges for allegedly driving while intoxicated, an incident the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office is using as a reminder heading into the holiday season.
The sheriff’s office on Monday shared dash camera footage of an incident Friday along I-96 near Spencer Road in Brighton.
Around 10:30 p.m. on Nov. 21 a deputy responding to the scene found 44-year-old Eric Stein asleep behind the wheel. Officials say Stein initially appeared to be passed out in the car, while stopped in a lane of travel, with his foot on the brake and the car in drive.
When deputies woke him up, he allegedly refused multiple commands to put the car in park and get out. Instead, he “chose to accelerate at a high rate of speed pushing the patrol car in front of him into traffic
