NEWPORT, R.I. —

Four Rhode Island teenagers now face charges in connection with the assault of a student with special needs in Newport, the city's police department said.

Two of the Rogers High School students, a 17-year-old and a 14-year-old, were arrested on Monday. They were both charged with assault.

A 16-year-old student was arrested and charged with assault on Saturday.

On Friday, another 16-year-old student was charged with two counts of assault. Police said they determined that the boy assaulted the victim on two occasions.

Newport Public Schools Superintendent Colleen Burns Jermain said the district became aware of a video depicting "unacceptable student behavior" in the boys' locker room at the school.
