AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - The Texas Bar Foundation has awarded a $17,500 grant to Square Mile Community Development.
According to a news release, the grant will be used to strengthen legal access and support services for refugees, asylum seekers, and other vulnerable newcomers in the Texas Panhandle.
This investment will help expand legal intake, documentation support, rights education, and coordinated service referral through The PLACE, Square Mile’s multicultural community center.
This grant enables Square Mile to scale a much-needed safety net in a region experiencing rapid population growth and increasing legal complexity among immigrant communities.
