At first it was planned for Wednesday night. Then it was moved to late Sunday afternoon. And finally, it settled on Thursday morning.

Plans for the annual Thanksgiving rivalry football game pitting Barrington High School against Mt. Hope High School traveled a winding route this year, before landing back on Thanksgiving.

For months, the Rhode Island Interscholastic League listed the game for Wednesday night, Nov. 26. The Thanksgiving Eve date was the apparent byproduct of a recent Thanksgiving game that had been pushed to the night before because of inclement weather. But the Wednesday night plans for this year’s game went out the window after the Mt. Hope football team qualified for the Division III championship game.
