It was a rainy Saturday morning at the Tiverton Public Library but still, cars lined up through the parking lot and beyond as drivers waited to receive the ingredients for a family meal this Thanksgiving.

It was a busier year than usual for volunteers at the food drive, run by the Amicable Congregational Church. In all, 173 meals, set to feed upwards of 750 people in Tiverton and Little Compton, were given out to people who signed up.

“We keep a list of everybody from year to year, and this year, we had about 70 new families added to the list,” said Pat Campion, who has organized these meal drives for years.
