GAINESVILLE, Va. — Two 12-year-old students will not face charges after they were connected to racial slurs found spray-painted on property at a Gainesville middle school.
According to the Prince William County Police Department, the vandalism was discovered at Bull Run Middle School on Catharpin Road on Halloween.
The vandalism included racial slurs and inappropriate language that had been spray-painted on multiple items on the property.
"The markings were subsequently removed," police said in a press release.
More than three weeks later, police say two 12-year-old students were connected to the vandalism.
