The Forest Service announced that Christmas tree permits are now available for purchase for the Plumas National Forest in a press release Friday.

Permits cost $10 and are nonrefundable. Each permit allows for one tree to be cut, and the permit must be secured to the tree in a visible place while transporting the tree from the forest.

Permits can be purchased at the Beckwourth Ranger District office in Blairsden, the Feather River Ranger District office in Oroville and the Forest Supervisor’s Office in Quincy. The offices will be closed for Thanksgiving, and are closed midday for lunch. Permits will also be available at the Plumas National Forest booth during Sparkle on the Courthouse Lawn in downtown Quincy on Dec. 5 from 5-8 p.m., with cash or check only being accepted.
