The New York Mets are acquiring second baseman Marcus Semien from the Texas Rangers for outfielder Brandon Nimmo, multiple outlets reported Sunday night.

Semien has three seasons remaining on a seven-year, $175 million deal. The 35-year-old missed the final 5 1/2 weeks of the 2025 season due to a broken left foot. He fouled a pitch off the foot on Aug. 21.

Nimmo has five seasons left on an eight-year, $162 million contract. The 32-year-old reportedly agreed to waive his no-trade clause to accommodate this deal.

Semien, a three-time All-Star, spent the past four seasons with the Rangers and was a key cog on their 2023 World Series championship team. He had 29 homers and 100 RBIs while playing all 162 games in the regular season that year.
