Keen mountain adventurer Rio James might only be nine, but he's already braced arctic weather conditions and altitude sickness to raise money for a food poverty charity.

While most nine-year-olds stick to playing computer games or building with Lego blocks, adventurer Rio James spent two weeks bracing arctic weather conditions and altitude sickness.

The adventurer, who at just nine is already no stranger to mountain trekking, recently took on his greatest challenge yet: climbing to Everest Base Camp. After watching his dad Jake - a joiner by trade - fit a new community supermarket, it inspired him to fundraise to help those struggling with food poverty.
