(KFVS) - AAA wants to make your holiday travel as smooth as possible, as they share the best time to leave to reach your Thanksgiving destination.

According to AAA, you’ll see the fewest number of cars on the road Thanksgiving Day.

However, if you are leaving Tuesday or Wednesday, you’ll want to hit the road before noon and 11 a.m., respectively.

A spokesperson for AAA said there are things you can do right now to get an early start.

“...that means packing up the car the night before, putting last minute items in that morning, maybe coffee on the road and getting going because any later than that you’re going to already be behind the major rush if you’re getting on the road mid morning,” Nick Chabarria, AAA public affairs senior specialist, said.
