The Wyoming Highway Patrol says driver inattention may be to blame for a head-on collision near Guernsey that left a motorcyclist dead.
The crash happened around 12:43 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 20, at milepost 12.6 on U.S. 26, about two miles west of Guernsey.
Passing Attempt Leads to Head-On Collision
According to a fatality crash summary , the driver of a Ford F-150 was headed east when they attempted to pass a hatchback and collided with an oncoming Harley-Davidson being ridden by 62-year-old Colorado resident Kerry Gunn.
"Both vehicles attempted to avoid a collision by veering toward the ditch on the north side of the road," the summary reads. "Both vehicles collided, and the motorcycle operator was thrown from the motorcycle."
