DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — Talk about a long taste test. This one covered some 3,600 miles; from Milan, Italy, to Downtown Brooklyn.

More specifically – St. Joseph’s University, Brooklyn. That’s where young Emma Centrella plays basketball – and discovered Brooklyn pizza.

“Actually, I love the pizza here in Brooklyn,” the 5-foot-11-inch sophomore starter for the Lady Bears from Milan told the Brooklyn Eagle. “In Italy,” she continued, “We eat the entire pie; here we get it by the slice. And the dough is lighter.”

For Centrella, finding Brooklyn pizza was easy. “There’s a really good pizzeria in DUMBO,” she said.

But how did she ever find the little university on Clinton Avenue, home of The Hill?
