STORRS, Conn. (WFSB) - The UConn football team is enjoying the Thanksgiving holiday after completing what may be the best season in program history, with players and coaches now awaiting word on a potential bowl game invitation.

The Huskies secured their ninth win Saturday with a comeback victory over Florida Atlantic, surviving a last-second field goal attempt that went wide to preserve the victory.

The win marked back-to-back nine-win seasons for UConn, the first time in program history the team has achieved that milestone.

UConn came close to an even more historic season, losing three games in overtime. The team was three plays away from a perfect 12-0 record.
