Gilbert police arrested a man Sunday in connection with the killing of his 91-year-old stepfather and the attempted killing of his mother, authorities said.
Officers found Oscar Casdorph dead and his 81-year-old wife critically injured Saturday evening after a family member requested a welfare check at their home in the 1300 block of West Straford Avenue, police said. Both had signs of trauma.
Investigators said Gary Crawford, 56, the woman’s son and Casdorph’s stepson, recently moved in with the couple and was missing along with their vehicle. Detectives also reported suspicious activity on one of Casdorph’s bank accounts.
