LOUISVILLE, Ky. — After a diving accident this summer, a Kentucky high school student is regaining strength.
Caleb Dykes, a golfer at Trinity High School, described his difficult recovery from a broken neck and paralysis.
He attends physical therapy three times a week now, where he’s regaining his ability to walk and moving him toward recovery. But just getting to this point for 15-year-old Dykes required patience mixed and optimism.
“We were staying with some of my cousins and then decided to dive into the pool and was a little too late. Couldn’t really tell where it got deeper at,” Dykes said.
Earlier this summer, Dykes suffered a diving accident that sent him to an ICU for two weeks in Toledo.
“My cousin thought I was playing a joke because I came up floating face down,” Dykes said
