COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho — The City of Coeur d'Alene is looking for applicants to fill the open seat left by newly elected Mayor Dan Gookin.

Gookin was elected as the new Coeur d'Alene Mayor earlier this month, leaving open Council Seat No. 3 when he becomes mayor on January 6, 2025.

Here are some of the qualifications for applicants, according to the City of Coeur d'Alene.

The person must be at least 18 years of age.

The person must be a U.S. citizen.

The person’s primary residence must be within the City of Coeur d’Alene.

The person must be registered to vote.

The person must be a resident of the city for at least 30 days prior to submitting their application. (They must continue to meet these qualifications throughout their term of office.)
