After starting the season with two losses, the Lady Hornets basketball team rebounded with two wins this past weekend. In both of those wins, graduate student Kaitlyn Sanders powered the offense by averaging 23.0 points per game. Her performance led to her earning the MIAA Athlete of the Week this week.
In the game against Southwest Baptist, Sanders put up 22 points, five assists, and four rebounds to go with three steals. Against Missouri S&T, she put up a career high of 24 points, four rebounds, and two more steals to seal the win for the Hornets. During these two games, Sanders was efficient shooting the ball as she shot 60.9 percent from the field against two former MIAA foes.
