Verdict:

A jury has found Steven Staples and Terry Conner, Jr. guilty in the murder and robbery of Brooks Sandwich House co-owner Scott Brooks.

Brooks was killed in 2019 during an early morning robbery as he was opening the restaurant for the day. Staples and Conner both have extensive criminal histories and are facing murder charges in another robbery case.

Update (11/17/2020):

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police announced Tuesday that a second suspect has been charged in the murder case of Scott Brooks, the co-owner of Brooks’ Sandwich House, who was killed in December 2019.

According to CMPD, 31-year-old Steven Staples has been charged for the murder of Scott Allen Brooks.
