Earlier this year, Sony finally unveiled a new pair of wireless headphones , the Sony WH-1000XM6, succeeding the brilliant Sony WH-1000XM5 released in 2022. They instantly became my favourite pair of cans, combining everything I loved about the XM5 with the comfort and foldable design of the XM4 – and I think they’re the best pair of headphones you can buy right now.

The adaptive noise cancellation has been upgraded, and the tuning has been refined for a richer sound. And the design is now sleeker, more compact and more travel-friendly. I’m especially impressed with the broader, more detailed soundstage, which really shines on high-resolution tracks.
