The Widower has been added to Netflix, telling the story of murderer and fraudster Malcolm Webster.

The Widower, an 11-year-old drama that has recently landed on Netflix , centres around the chilling real-life story of Malcolm Webster.

Netflix viewers have found themselves engrossed in the true tale of Malcolm Webster, who killed his first wife Claire Morris in 1994 after taking out multiple life insurance policies in her name.

Webster then tried to kill his second wife Felicity Drumm, now known as Felicity Cross, in a car crash in New Zealand in 1997, but she survived the accident and he managed to escape.

Webster was able to return to Scotland where he secured a job as a nurse at a hospital in Oban. It was here that he met Simone Banarjee, an NHS manager, in 2004.
