Three women and a toddler died in the Brampton fire last week, Peel police spokesperson Const. Tyler Bell-Morena confirmed Monday at a news conference at the scene.
Three people were previously unaccounted for, Bell-Morena said. Two died and one has been found safe, he said.
Jugraj Singh was working when the fire broke out and police later located him at the hospital with his family, including his wife who lost her unborn child when she was injured escaping the blaze.
Singh is a long-haul truck driver who was working in the U.S. and he flew back when he found out about the fire.
