Viola Ford Fletcher, the oldest living survivor of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre, died Monday at 111 after decades seeking justice.
The massacre devastated Black Wall Street, killing hundreds and destroying the thriving Greenwood district when Fletcher was just 7 years old.
Though Fletcher testified before Congress and filed reparations lawsuits, Oklahoma’s Supreme Court dismissed her case in June 2024.
