Retailers in Texas say the public needs to know more about a sweeping new ban on certain vape products and e-cigarettes, and many of the items still on store shelves may now be illegal.
The Texas Comptroller’s Office has begun enforcing Senate Bill 2024, which bans thousands of vape products marketed toward people under 21 or designed to appeal to young customers with bright colors and playful designs.

Store owner Rishi Niraula, who runs the Benbrook Corner Store, said he’s trying to follow the law but continues to see competitors selling banned items.
Vapes are “very popular, very popular," Niraula said.
