NEWBERRY COUNTY, S.C. — Bond was set Monday afternoon for two parents charged after two children were found shot inside a Newberry County home over the weekend.
28-year-old Tyresa Cunningham received a $20,000 bond on two counts of unlawful neglect of a child. 21-year-old Tyleik Sanders was given a $30,000 bond. He is charged with two counts of unlawful neglect of a child and one count of obstruction of justice.
The charges stem from a shooting reported Sunday around 6:30 p.m., when Newberry County 911 received a call that a child had been shot at a home on Wilson Road. Deputies arriving on scene found two children — a 4-year-old and a 2-year-old — each suffering from gunshot wounds. One child was shot in the hand and the other in the foot.
