KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tuesday is a Weather Impact Alert Day because of potential travel impacts from heavy rain and a few strong storms.
There will be widespread and possibly heavy rain from around sunrise into the late morning, with localized flooding becoming a possible concern during and after the morning commute.
Rain chances will become more hit or miss into the afternoon but with warming temperatures, another round of scattered storms is expected to develop from the afternoon into the evening.
Gusty winds are the main concern with any stronger storms but an isolated tornado is not out of the question in the Southern Valley and on the Southern Plateau.
