HOUSTON — Hong Lin Tsai shows up to every Rice University football game. Front row. Owl’s nest and plushie in hand. No matter the weather, he’s there.

Tsai is a political science major and is widely known as one of Rice’s biggest superfans. He told KHOU 11's Zack Tawatari that there aren’t many student fans who show up consistently, so he tries to bridge the gap between students and the athletics department.

Tsai started at Rice as a cartoonist. Over time, he became more involved in school spirit and now serves as the external vice president of Rice’s Rally Club.

“It’s something that I wanted to, you know, give thanks to Rice, and you know, thank you for the time I’ve had for all four of my years," Tsai said.
