ALLEN PARK -- Dan Campbell has played and coached for the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving. The Lions coach even played in a couple while with the Dallas Cowboys, too, so he knows all about what this day means to families and football fans.
Campbell enters his fifth Thanksgiving game leading the Lions to a 1-3 record in that span. Last year, Detroit snapped its seven-game losing streak, holding off the Chicago Bears for the team’s first win on the holiday since 2016.
The Lions and the Cowboys are the two teams everyone grew up watching, usually with their families in tow. Campbell knows this one carries a little extra meaning due to the history in Detroit.
