Just a few golfers were finishing up their rounds Monday evening at Bayview Retirees Golf Course, but the parking lot was full.

About 50 people packed into the municipal golf course’s clubhouse, with questions and frustrations about the fate of the course.

In September, the city of Toledo detailed plans to permanently close Bayview at the end of the season to perform significant upgrades to the Bay View Water Reclamation Plant.

The 11-hole course, located near Point Place, is open to those 45 years and older. It costs $5 per person and an additional $5 for a cart. The course, which is celebrating its 45th year, is entirely run and kept up by volunteers.
