SMITH COUNTY, Texas — A Tyler mother is speaking out after the tragic death of her 23-year-old daughter, Madison Hull, who was attacked and killed by three pit bull dogs while dog-sitting for a local family on Friday.
According to authorities, Hull had gone to the home to let the family’s dogs back inside after they got out. In those moments, three pit bulls attacked and fatally mauled her. A neighbor who heard the commotion called 911, and when deputies arrived, the dogs charged at them. A sheriff’s deputy shot and killed one of the dogs.
“The dogs then diverted their attention. All three of them to him. Started coming toward him, and he unholstered his service weapon and fired at one of the dogs, killing it,” said Larry Christian of the Smith County Sheriff’s Office.
