MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) - Geoffrey Rodriguez and Adam Plotkin are medical students at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW), and both serve in the Army.
They both are currently going through clinicals at the MCW “BRAVE” program, which helps veterans with “invisible” wounds like brain injuries and PTSD.
“Getting the word out that these are normal things to go through, the invisible wounds are things that are almost normal to the jobs,” BRAVE Medical Director Gregory Burek said.
The program doesn’t require payment and provides veterans with comprehensive and classroom-like care.
Veterans coming in for help go through meetings and classes over a course of three weeks, that would usually take more than two years somewhere else.
