RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - It was all hands on deck outside Richmond Police headquarters on Monday as heaps of Thanksgiving food were organized, packed away, and sent off the Richmond families.
The meals were hand-delivered to 29 different households across the city. Each family received a turkey and a basket full of everything needed for a Thanksgiving dinner.
“It’ll all be gone cause they eat a lot, I got big boys too,” Marcia Williams, the mom of one of the households who receiving food, joked.
Williams says it had been a hard year for her family. First her mother passed away, and then in October the unthinkable happened: her 21-year-old son, Jaylien Thomas, also died.
“This is our first holiday without my mom and my son so it’s really hard on the kids and so we really appreciate y’all,
