Thousands of seniors in rural Northern California counties are losing their Medicare Advantage coverage as major insurers discontinue plans for 2026. Aetna and Anthem Blue Cross announced they will stop offering Individual Medicare Advantage plans in 10 counties, including El Dorado, Placer, Solano, Amador, Calaveras, Colusa, Plumas, Sierra, Stanislaus, and Tuolumne.
