BELOIT, Wis. (WKOW) -- The Beloit Police & Fire Commission on Monday appointed Todd Farley as interim fire chief of the City of Beloit Fire Department.

Farley has served as a battalion chief leading the department's emergency medical services division since January 2023.

He brings more than 30 years of experience in the fire service, including previous roles as fire chief of Leavenworth County Fire District No. 1 and the Macon, Missouri, Fire Department. Farley also holds a master's degree in leadership.

The commission will discuss next steps in the fire chief hiring process at its December meeting.

The City of Beloit said it will continue to keep the community updated as decisions are made.
