A pedestrian in a mobility scooter was seriously hurt after being struck by a car in Greenlawn on Monday, Nov. 24, at 2:26 p.m., Suffolk County Police said.
Second Squad detectives said a 2019 Audi driven by Brian Finkelstein, 37, of Centerport, was heading south on Manor Road when it hit a 92-year-old Greenlawn man who was traveling east on Cuba Hill Road in a mobility scooter as he attempted to cross the intersection, according to the release.
The man was taken to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip for treatment of serious physical injuries, police said. Finkelstein was not hurt.
The Audi was impounded for a safety check, according to the release. Detectives ask anyone with information to contact the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
